Envision Galaxy Campus

On August 6, 2026, Chinese renewable-energy and AI infrastructure group Envision commissioned its Galaxy Campus in Ulanqab, Inner Mongolia, roughly 350 km northwest of Beijing — a single 120,000 sqm building the company describes as the world's largest standalone AI data center structure, about the footprint of 20 football fields. The campus is the first project under Envision's Mission Gobi program, which targets 5 GW of green AI computing capacity worldwide by 2030, and is designed to scale toward more than 2 GW of IT power and up to 1 million AI accelerators as build-out phases come online. Rather than drawing solely from the regional grid, the site is wired directly to Inner Mongolia's wind and solar resources through Envision's proprietary AI Power System, aiming to deliver gigawatt-scale AI compute without a proportional fossil-fuel load. Envision has not disclosed the capacity of the initial commissioned phase, named customers, or total investment; further per-phase figures are expected as the campus ramps toward its full design scale.
