A1 Hrvatska, the Croatian arm of Telekom Austria's A1 Group, opened this €11 million data center in Novo Zagreb at the end of 2021 after roughly a year of construction. The 2,000 sqm facility spans six technical rooms with room for up to 300 IT cabinets and draws on its own dedicated substation fed from two independent grid sources, giving it a maximum capacity of 2 MW. A1 designed the building to Uptime Institute Tier III standards from the outset of construction rather than retrofitting an existing structure, and the operator states it is built to withstand earthquakes up to magnitude 9 on the Richter scale — a design response to the 5.5-magnitude quake that struck Zagreb in March 2020. The site offers full cabinets, partial cabinets, shared rack space, cages and dedicated suites, plus remote-hands support, positioned as a carrier-neutral colocation option alongside A1's existing telecom infrastructure. A1 has stated this was only the second Tier III-class facility in Croatia at the time of opening. The operator has not published IT power density figures, PUE, or independent Uptime Institute constructed-facility certification for the site beyond the design-stage award.
