NTT Berlin 1 Data Center

NTT Berlin 1, in the Spandau district, is the larger of NTT's two disclosed Berlin facilities (the other, Berlin 2, sits about 14 km south) and the operator's flagship site in the German capital. It runs 17.1 MW of critical IT load across more than 11,700 sqm, fed by two independent 10 kV utility supplies and a 26 MVA on-site substation. Power redundancy is 2N UPS with N+1 generator backup. Cooling uses air-cooled chiller systems with integrated free cooling and weather-dependent energy management to reduce mechanical load in cooler months. NTT connects the facility to the DE-CIX, BCIX and NL-ix internet exchanges, giving tenants direct access to major European peering points. The operator's marketing describes Berlin 1 as the "third-largest site" in its German portfolio, a claim from NTT rather than an independently verified ranking. As with NTT's other German facilities (several inherited from the former e-shelter brand), the public page states only that the site "holds multiple certifications" without naming any specific standard, so no Uptime Tier or ISO/TIA rating can be recorded. No year-opened date or renewable-energy percentage is disclosed.
