NTT Munich 2, in Unterschleißheim just north of Munich, is the larger of NTT's two disclosed facilities serving the Munich metro area — the other, Munich 1 in Kirchheim-Heimstetten, is explicitly described by NTT as "one of three of our smaller data centers" at just 1 MW. Munich 2 is built as two buildings (A and B) with a combined 14 MW of critical IT load across more than 6,300 sqm, backed by a 30 MVA on-site substation and power density of 1.5–2.0 kW/sqm. Cooling uses highly efficient chiller systems with free-cooling recoolers that can run in integrated or separated mode depending on outside conditions, part of a weather-dependent energy management scheme also used at NTT's Berlin sites. Like several of NTT's German facilities, Munich 2 traces its history to the former e-shelter brand, which NTT acquired and rebranded. The public facility page does not name any specific third-party certification (no Uptime Tier or TIA-942 rating stated), and no year-opened date or renewable-energy percentage is disclosed.
