Metamorfosis II is Telecom Italia Sparkle's newest Greek data center, built next to its original Metamorfosis site north of central Athens. Construction began in January 2020 and the facility entered service in September 2021 with 7.7 MW of designed power capacity across six modules and space for up to 700 racks over roughly 6,000 sqm, built to anti-seismic criteria for the region. Sparkle initially disclosed the site under an Uptime Institute Tier III Design Documents award; in June 2026 the operator announced it had progressed to a full Tier III Certification of Constructed Facility, which Sparkle's own release ties to 1,282 kW of currently certified peak capacity — a subset of the building's total design power rather than a contradiction of the 7.7 MW figure. The facility also holds LEED Gold and ISO 14001 certification. Metamorfosis II extends Sparkle's existing Greek footprint, which also includes an older Metamorfosis building and a cable-landing site in Koropi, positioning Athens as a hub in the operator's Mediterranean and Adriatic-Balkan network.
