Khazna's move into Dammam marks the Abu Dhabi-based operator's first announced facility outside the UAE, following its established Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Al Ain and Ajman clusters. The company has acquired a 225,000 sqm site in Dammam, on Saudi Arabia's Eastern Province coast near the Gulf Data Hub and stc/Center3 facilities already active in the same city, and plans a modular build-out toward 200 MW of AI-ready capacity. Khazna has described the project as targeting LEED Gold certification, consistent with the sustainability positioning of its UAE campuses, though as of the announcement the facility remains at the land-acquisition and planning stage with no construction-completion date disclosed. The move follows Saudi Arabia's push to build out sovereign and commercial AI infrastructure capacity as part of its broader data-economy strategy, and puts Khazna in direct competition with domestic operators such as stc/Center3 and Gulf Data Hub for the kingdom's fast-growing hyperscale and AI colocation demand.
