KT Mokdong IDC1

KT's Mokdong IDC1 is the company's original flagship internet data center in Yangcheon-gu, Seoul, first announced in January 2006 and completed in April 2008 on a roughly 6,600 square meter site with about 61,500 square meters of total floor area across 12 floors above ground and three basement levels. At completion KT marketed it as the largest data center in Asia, built to serve the rapid growth of its IDC business, which the company said had grown at an average 40% a year over the preceding three years. Beyond raw colocation space, the original design bundled in a disaster-recovery center, a copyright-management facility, multimedia production space and an IT training center, reflecting KT's ambition to position Mokdong as a hub for the broader internet industry rather than a pure wholesale data hall. Mokdong IDC1 remains part of KT Cloud's national IDC fleet today, now one of the smaller and oldest of the company's Seoul-area sites alongside the larger Mokdong IDC2 (2016) and Yongsan IDC (2020).
