KT Mokdong IDC2 — Top 10 data centers in Seoul, South Korea 2026
#9 of 18 · See the list →

KT opened Mokdong IDC2 in Yangcheon-gu, Seoul on 12 October 2016 as its self-described 'intelligent data center,' built alongside the older Mokdong IDC1 to expand KT's capital-region colocation capacity. The single building covers about 50,000 square meters across 12 floors above ground and two basement levels, with 14 dedicated server rooms distributed from the fourth to the twelfth floor. KT designed the facility with both a low-density zone (around 3 kW per rack) and a high-density zone (around 10 kW per rack) so customers can choose the power profile that matches their equipment, an early example of tiered-density colocation in the Korean market. At opening, KT linked Mokdong IDC2 into unified monitoring and operations with its other capital-region sites — Mokdong IDC1, Bundang, Gangnam and Yeouido — so customers with racks split across buildings could be managed as a single deployment. Within seven months of opening, KT reported the center had passed 50% occupancy.
