Equinix ZH5, at Allmendstrasse 9 in Oberengstringen on Zurich's western edge, is the largest of the operator's three disclosed Zurich-area IBX facilities by floor space, at roughly 79,416 sq ft (7,378 sqm) of colocation across a three-storey building — well ahead of the smaller ZH2 and ZH4 sites on Josefstrasse in the city center. The facility runs N+1 redundancy on both UPS and cooling, though Equinix withholds its generator redundancy figure and total site power capacity in MW pending a sales inquiry. Minimum cabinet density is 5kVA on a 230V/400V distribution. Security includes on-site guarding and entrance mantraps. Equinix's 2025 sustainability disclosure for the site cites supplier-bundled mixed Guarantees of Origin sourced across EU (AIB) countries, alongside a green facade, on-site green space and bug hotels, EV charging and high-efficiency UPS, though no overall renewable-energy percentage is stated for the facility. ZH5 carries the operator's standard European certification set — ISO 9001, 14001, 22301, 27001, 45001 and 50001, PCI DSS, SOC 1 and SOC 2 Type II, the Climate Neutral Data Centre Pact, Cyber Essentials and the EU Code of Conduct — and anchors Equinix's three-site Zurich-area presence, its first market entry into Switzerland.
