nLighten Zurich ZRH1 — Top 3 data centers in Zurich, Switzerland 2026
#3 of 8 · See the list →

nLighten operates ZRH1, an edge colocation facility on Josefstrasse in central Zurich, close to the city's main railway station. The building dates to the Interoute era and changed hands twice — first to GTT after Interoute's 2018 acquisition, then to Exa Infrastructure — before nLighten took it over in April 2024 as part of a seven-site pan-European acquisition from Exa. The site provides 1,200 kW of total power capacity across 1,439 sqm of technical space, with a design PUE of 1.29. Standard cabinets run 2–7 kW with air cooling to ASHRAE A1 allowable limits, and the operator offers high-density configurations up to 150+ kW per cabinet on request. nLighten markets the facility as carrier-neutral and powered by carbon-free electricity, positioning it for banking and financial-services tenants that need a central, low-latency Zurich presence rather than a large campus on the city's outskirts. The operator states the design meets Tier III standards, though this is a design claim rather than an independently certified rating.
