Aligned LBB-01 (Project Caprock, Abernathy)

Project Caprock is Aligned Data Centers’ entry into West Texas, breaking ground in Hale County just outside Abernathy in April 2026. The operator’s groundbreaking announcement describes a 313-acre campus planned for six buildings and roughly 1.65 million sq ft, reaching 540 MW of capacity at full build — among the largest single campus figures Aligned has disclosed anywhere in its portfolio. The first building, LBB-01, is expected to reach service by the first quarter of 2027. Aligned frames the campus around AI and HPC workloads, pairing DeltaFlow liquid cooling with an air-cooled heat-rejection system in a closed-loop design intended to handle GPU-class density from the outset. The press release cites Xcel Energy as the partner delivering dedicated electrical infrastructure and Ryan Companies as general contractor, with Aligned estimating roughly $5 billion in regional economic impact from the build-out. No certifications, per-building square footage, or rack-density figures have been published yet beyond the campus-level plan; those details are expected to follow as individual buildings near completion.
