Crusoe's campus on the Lancium Clean Campus site in Abilene, Texas is the original build associated with the Stargate initiative backed by Oracle and OpenAI, and the flagship of the operator's data center portfolio. Crusoe designed, built and operates the site; the first two buildings, together delivering more than 200 MW of critical IT load, reached energization in the first half of 2025, each housing NVIDIA GB200 NVL72 racks with up to 50,000 GPUs per building on an integrated network fabric. The operator's own figures describe an expansion to eight buildings and roughly 4 million sq ft, taking the campus to a stated 1.2 gigawatts of capacity, with the remaining six buildings targeted for completion around mid-2026. Cooling runs on a closed-loop, direct-to-chip liquid system designed for zero water evaporation, and the site draws on a mix of behind-the-meter battery storage, solar and natural-gas turbines, plus nearby wind resources. Crusoe reports roughly 2,000 workers on site during construction, rising toward 5,000 as the campus completes. The company has since begun a separate, adjacent 900 MW campus at the same location built for Microsoft, distinct from this Stargate-linked build.
