DUG's McCloud data hall sits inside Skybox Datacenters' facility in Houston's Energy Corridor and opened in May 2019 as the debut site for the company's patented DUG Cool immersion-cooling technology. The 15 MW hall was purpose-built to house "Bubba", a roughly 250-petaflop supercomputer used for DUG's core business of seismic imaging and reservoir simulation for oil and gas clients, submerging server nodes in more than 700 tanks of dielectric fluid rather than relying on conventional air-cooled racks. A second, identical hall was floated as a near-term expansion when the site opened, though DUG has not published a combined current power figure for the campus. The hardware inside has been refreshed twice since: AMD EPYC Genoa and Intel Xeon CPU Max servers arrived in 2024, and in January 2026 DUG added 82 NVIDIA H200 GPU machines to extend the site into AI and machine-learning workloads alongside its original HPC role. Houston remains one of only three data centres DUG operates worldwide, alongside Perth and Kuala Lumpur.
