Switch The Core Campus (Las Vegas)

The Core Campus in Las Vegas is Switch's founding data center campus, the site that established the company's SUPERNAP brand before Switch rebranded its rating scheme as Tier 5 Platinum. The operator plans up to 495 MW of power at full build-out, with cabinets supporting as much as 2 MW each — an unusually high published density figure aimed at hyperscale and AI customers. The campus runs entirely on renewable energy under Switch's power-uptime guarantee, and connects to Switch's other Nevada campus, The Citadel in Tahoe Reno, over a dedicated 7 ms SUPERLOOP fiber link. Nevada's low sales and property tax rates for data center equipment, combined with the state's lack of income tax, are a recurring part of Switch's pitch for the market, alongside claimed latency of about 5 ms to Los Angeles. Switch does not break out individual building names, footprints or exact commissioned capacity for the Core Campus on its public facility page, describing the whole site at the campus level.
