Flexential's Hillsboro 5 building, at 4975 NE Starr Boulevard, is under construction immediately next to the operator's existing Hillsboro 4 facility in Oregon's Silicon Forest submarket west of Portland. The building is designed for 358,000 sq ft and 36 MW of critical power on a 5:4 distributed-redundant UPS configuration with N+2 cooling, targeting a 1.4 power usage effectiveness once operational. Flexential positions the site as liquid-cooling-ready for up to 80+ kW per cabinet, aimed at AI and high-performance-computing tenants rather than conventional enterprise colocation loads — the same positioning the operator has used for its newer-generation buildings in Atlanta, Denver and Dallas. A September 2025 press release announcing a sixth Hillsboro building described Hillsboro 5 as already under construction and expected to come online the following year, and Flexential's August 2026 $800 million financing release again listed it among projects underway. No third-party Uptime Institute or TIA-942 certification, general contractor, or confirmed energization date is published for the building.
