Equinix opened SE3 as its second Seattle-metro IBX on March 14, 2013, with roughly 51,000 sq ft of data center space and capacity for more than 1,000 cabinet equivalents at the time, per the operator's opening announcement; the current facility page lists a smaller 36,457 sq ft (3,387 sqm) of colocation space, reflecting the site's present configuration rather than the original build-out. Published specs show distributed-redundant N+1 UPS, N+1 cooling redundancy via water-cooled DX rooftop units with air-side economizers, and a minimum cabinet density of 4 kVA on 120V/208V distribution. The building's first phase is LEED Gold certified, alongside Energy Star recognition in multiple years.
