Analyst note: what moved the MI355X price
New floor: Daytona now lists MI355X on-demand at $5.99/GPU-hr (confirmed on Daytona's own pricing page today, distinct from its $3.44/GPU-hr preemptible tier) — a ~16% drop from the prior $7.10 floor and the first sub-$7 confirmed on-demand rate for this SKU. DigitalOcean also added MI355X this cycle, but only as a spot SKU at $4.50/GPU-hr, so it doesn't count as on-demand. Typical pricing eases to ~$7.00/GPU-hr as the new floor pulls the cluster down, with OVHcloud/Vultr on-demand ~$7.10 and CoreWeave ~$7.20 still anchoring the middle. Oracle bare-metal remains the ceiling at $8.60/GPU-hr. CoreWeave's $4.25/GPU-hr 1-year reservation remains the only published contract rate for this SKU.

FAQ
Why does the MI355X price range from $5.99 to $8.60?
Because the tracker covers very different sellers: marketplaces and boutique neoclouds at the bottom, hyperscalers with bundled networking, storage and support at the top. The median $7.00 is the better planning number; the minimum usually comes with capacity limits, older hosts or spot-like terms.
Is the MI355X getting cheaper?
The tracked median moved from $1.49 at the first snapshot (2025-10-01) to $7.00 now, with a peak of $7.50 and a low of $1.49; the change against a year ago is +370%. Newer generations, provider capacity and inference demand drive the direction — see the analyst note above for the latest move.
What does it cost to buy an MI355X instead?
Coloprice does not publish purchase prices for the MI355X: vendors and OEMs do not list them publicly, and quoted figures vary by volume and configuration. For a rent-versus-buy comparison use the calculator on the tools page with your own quote and the rental median $7.00.
Where can I host my own MI355X servers?
In colocation facilities built for high density: current AMD accelerators need liquid cooling or 40–130 kW racks, which only AI-ready halls provide. The colocation pricing pages show wholesale $/kW benchmarks by market, and the catalog marks AI-ready facilities per city.
