CDC Beard Campus

Beard Campus is CDC's fourth data centre site in the Canberra region and, unlike the operator's three operating Hume and Fyshwick campuses nearby, is still under construction. CDC discloses a total capacity of 39 MW for the site, which will house a single data centre, BE1, once complete; the company has not published an expected completion date, address or floor space for the campus. The addition extends CDC's long-running presence in the ACT, where the company has operated since launching its first Hume facility in 2008 and now quotes over 250 MW of combined capacity across its three live campuses. Beard is being built to the same government-hosting security bar as the rest of CDC's Canberra footprint — the highest accreditation tier available under the Australian Government's Hosting Certification Framework — and will fall under CDC's NVIDIA DGX-Ready Data Center certification, which the operator holds across its entire Australian and New Zealand portfolio and backs with closed-loop and direct liquid-to-chip cooling systems for AI workloads. No formal Uptime Institute or TIA-942 tier rating has been published for the site. Beard signals CDC's intent to keep growing its ACT capacity alongside larger regional bets in Sydney, Melbourne, Perth and Auckland.
