MEL2 is AirTrunk's second Melbourne campus, sited in the city's north-west alongside the operator's existing MEL1 facility, and at 354+ MW of disclosed capacity it is the largest single site AirTrunk has announced in Australia. The company describes the project as more than A$5 billion of direct investment, lifting its total deployable capacity across the two Melbourne campuses to over 630 MW. The 8.07-hectare site is planned for up to 32 technical data halls spanning roughly 42,240 sqm within a 45,578 sqm gross floor area. As with AirTrunk's other Australian campuses, the design targets a PUE of 1.15, runs on a diverse 66 kV high-voltage feed, and is built to Certified Strategic status under the Australian Government's Hosting Certification Framework with SCEC Zone 3 or higher physical security. The site is carrier neutral with multiple fibre entry paths and is backed by the operator's 100% availability SLA. AirTrunk markets the campus toward hyperscale cloud and AI infrastructure tenants; the operator has not disclosed a year-opened date, current build phase, or occupied capacity against the 354+ MW ceiling.
