Colt Chennai Data Centre

Colt DCS is developing a data center in Ambattur, an industrial suburb about 25 km from Chennai's airport, through the same joint venture with Indian developer RMZ that Colt already uses for its Visakhapatnam and Mumbai campuses. The Chennai site is planned to deliver 96 MW of IT power — the largest capacity Colt has disclosed for any facility in this update — on a 10-acre plot, with the operator targeting a 2027 launch. Colt has not yet published cooling technology, floor space or construction milestones for the building, and the facility is engineered to the operator's internal tier 3 resilient infrastructure specification rather than a third-party Uptime or TIA certification. Chennai is Colt-RMZ's second Indian market after Mumbai, part of a broader push by international operators into South India's coastal cities, which offer subsea cable landing points, a large technical workforce and lower land costs than Mumbai or the National Capital Region. No tenants or pre-leasing status have been disclosed.
