Equinix CN1 is the operator's first data center in Chennai and its fifth in India, opened in the fourth quarter of 2025 on a nearly six-acre plot in the SIPCOT Industrial Park in Siruseri, part of the city's IT corridor. The four-story building holds roughly 750 sqm (8,073 sq ft) of colocation space and opened with an initial US$69 million investment providing 800 cabinets, with Equinix stating the site will eventually support up to 4,250 cabinets. Equinix markets CN1 as its first AI-ready facility in India, engineered to support liquid cooling for high-density compute alongside standard deployments, on a 240V/415V power distribution with a 5kVA minimum cabinet density and N+1 generator, N+2 cooling redundancy. The site is interconnected with Equinix's three-building Mumbai campus over Equinix Fabric. Sustainability features listed for 2025 include wind and solar I-RECs sourced from India, a reflective roof and greywater reuse for irrigation and cooling. No overall site power capacity in MW or third-party certifications have been published for CN1 yet.
