Australian AI-infrastructure developer Firmus Technologies announced on June 28, 2026 a partnership with Nvidia and Singapore-based developer DayOne to build a 360 MW liquid-cooled AI factory campus on Batam island, Indonesia, just across the strait from Singapore. The campus is designed around Firmus's proprietary "HyperCube" liquid-cooling architecture integrated with Nvidia's DSX AI factory reference platform, and the companies say it will eventually house up to 170,000 Nvidia AI accelerator chips. Firmus and its partners project $25-30 billion in compute offtake commitments over a six-year term running through 2034, positioning Batam as a lower-cost, power-rich alternative to land- and grid-constrained Singapore for GPU-scale training and inference. First commercial capacity is targeted for early 2027. The project adds to a cluster of hyperscale campuses already forming around Batam's Nongsa and Kabil corridors, drawing operators who want Singapore-adjacent latency without Singapore's moratorium-era land and power limits. Detailed site plans, financing structure, and construction milestones had not been published at announcement.
