DayOne Nongsa Digital Park Campus (NDP1, ex-GDS Batam)

GDS Holdings originally chose Batam's Nongsa Digital Park for its first Indonesian campus, placing capacity roughly 25 kilometers across the strait from Singapore at a time when the city-state's own supply remains constrained. Effective January 2025, GDS's international business — including this campus — spun out as an independently branded company, DayOne, backed by a Series B round led by SoftBank Vision Fund alongside Coatue, Baupost and Citadel's Ken Griffin. Under the DayOne brand the Nongsa campus (NDP1) is now marketed with up to 72 MW of IT capacity and LEED Gold certification, listed as ready for service from 2025 onward — up from the roughly 28 MW originally planned across two buildings when construction began in mid-2022 within the Nongsa Special Economic Zone. Indonesia's sovereign wealth fund INA has a collaboration with the GDS/DayOne group to develop data centers in the zone. Sitting on the digital corridor between Singapore and Indonesia, the site targets hyperscalers and international platforms that want Singapore-adjacent capacity without Singapore's power and land constraints. A separate, similarly named facility, BW Digital's NDP1 at the same park, is a distinct project under a different operator.
