Equinix CH5

Equinix CH5 is a newly built data center at 2001 Lunt Avenue in Elk Grove Village, next to CH3 in the operator's Chicago-suburb campus. Equinix markets it explicitly around direct-to-chip liquid cooling for AI and high-density workloads, alongside standard air cooling, and lists 193,110 sq ft (17,941 sqm) of colocation space. Disclosed specs show N+1 power redundancy, N+20% cooling redundancy, N+1 UPS and generator redundancy with a generator belly tank rather than a published hours-of-autonomy figure, and a minimum cabinet density of 7 kVA on 240V/415V distribution — the highest published density among the Chicago buildings covered here. Security includes onsite guarding, biometrics, proximity-card access and 24/7 video surveillance. High-Density Cooling and Secure Cabinet are among CH5's available products alongside Private Cage and Equinix Flex Space. Only PCI DSS is listed among certifications, a narrower set than Equinix's older Chicago buildings, consistent with a recently opened site. Building construction type, floor load capacity, sustainability initiatives, total power capacity in MW, cabinet count and opening year are not published.
