Aligned ORD-02 (Northlake)

ORD-02 is the confirmed-capacity building on Aligned Data Centers’ 18.5-acre Northlake campus outside Chicago, sharing the site with the earlier ORD-01. Aligned’s own spec sheet for the building states 228,768 gross sq ft and 36 MW of capacity, drawing on dual utility substations that give the campus 170 MW of total available capacity at a stated utility cost of $0.057/kWh. Cooling uses Aligned’s Delta Cube system, which the operator describes as absorbing heat at its source and configurable from N through 2N redundancy depending on tenant requirements. ORD-02 is notable within Aligned’s portfolio as the company’s first facility to achieve OCP Ready for Hyperscale certification, alongside the standard North American compliance package — SOC 2 Type 2, PCI DSS, HIPAA/HITECH, NIST 800-53 and ISO 27001:2022. At full build, the Northlake campus (ORD-01 and ORD-02 combined) spans roughly 520,000 sq ft and about 72 MW of critical load, with a third Aligned building, ORD-03, added later on a separate 36-acre site in nearby Elk Grove Village.
