Aligned SLC-03 (West Jordan)

SLC-03 is the third hyperscale data center Aligned Data Centers built on its 3333 West 9000 South campus in West Jordan, part of the Salt Lake City metro. The operator’s press release announcing the expansion states the building adds more than 100 MW of capacity to the campus, using Delta3 cooling with waterless heat rejection — a relevant design choice in Utah’s arid climate — and Aligned’s Expand on Demand approach, which lets tenants scale incrementally in place up to 50 kW per rack. SLC-03 holds Three Green Globes for New Construction, in addition to Aligned’s standard compliance set of SOC 2 Type 2, PCI DSS, HIPAA/HITECH, NIST 800-53 and ISO 27001. The building is designed to Tier III standards with 3 MW backup generators and 2 MW UPS per block, N+1 or better redundancy, and runs on 100 percent renewable power under Aligned’s 2040 carbon-neutral target. The West Jordan campus now includes three buildings at this address (SLC-01 through SLC-03), plus SLC-04 in nearby West Valley City, making Salt Lake City one of Aligned’s largest US metro footprints outside Texas and Virginia.
