HAM5 is the second of plusserver's two Hamburg data centers, alongside HAM6, within the German cloud and hosting provider's four-site German portfolio. Built in 2008 in brick and cold sandstone with F90 fire-rated interior walls, the site was modernized in 2011, 2013, 2016 and 2020, and holds 2,130 m² of total technical area across two server rooms of 135 m² and 270 m², with a stated capacity of about 6,000 servers. Cooling is provided at 1,200 kW of N+1 capacity, and power runs through an in-house medium-voltage distribution board with 2 MVA of N+1 capacity on a 10 kV ring, backed by 1.7 MVA of N+1 emergency generation and 30,000 liters of fuel designed for 72 hours of autonomous supply at full load. The UPS system is rated at 2 x 640 kW N+1 with a 20-minute battery hold time. plusserver lists the facility as ISO/IEC 27001-certified colocation with carrier connectivity including Deutsche Telekom and Wilhelm.tel.
