MC Digital Realty KIX15

KIX15 is the next building on the KIX Campus in Ibaraki City, the Osaka-area site where MC Digital Realty, the 50/50 joint venture of Digital Realty and Mitsubishi Corporation, already runs several data centers. Construction was announced on 7 October 2026, with a 24 MW critical IT capacity and opening targeted for the fourth quarter of 2028. Japanese trade reporting describes a base-isolated structure with one basement level and three floors above ground, about 17,700 square metres of floor area, and a design that supports both air and liquid cooling for dense AI hardware. The joint venture positions the building within its Kansai AI Infrastructure Co-Creation Project, and says it will take the venture's Japan portfolio to ten data centers and roughly 220 MW of IT capacity. Seismic isolation is a standard requirement for large Japanese facilities, and Osaka has become the main second market to Tokyo for hyperscale and AI demand, which explains the steady cadence of new buildings on this campus. No tenant or certification has been published for KIX15.
