The Kodaira site will open with a 15 MW first-phase building and is planned to scale to 42 MW of IT capacity at full build-out, adding to DayOne's fast-growing Japan and Southeast Asia portfolio, which already spans construction-stage campuses in Singapore, Thailand and Indonesia. DayOne CEO Jamie Khoo framed the groundbreaking as the start of a long-term commitment to the Kodaira area and to the Japanese market more broadly, which has drawn a wave of hyperscale and AI-cloud investment as operators look beyond the traditional Tokyo core and Inzai corridor for available power and land. No tenant or specific cooling technology has been disclosed for the Kodaira building, and a completion date has not been published.
