Switch Datacenters AMS3 sits in the Amsterdam South-East business district, in a building that was originally a logistics warehouse before Switch Datacenters converted it into an IT-capable Tier 3+ data center in 2017. The facility covers 11,000 sqm in total, with 3,239 sqm of net white space when fully occupied, and draws on 10.0 MVA of redundant incoming grid capacity to deliver 8.6 MW of total potential customer IT capacity today. Cooling is handled by an indirect adiabatic system with N+1 redundancy per corridor, reaching a cooling pPUE of 1.04. Switch Datacenters has announced plans to expand AMS3's capacity to 7 MW in 2026 with a further 20 MW to be deployed later, opening the site to additional customers as the Amsterdam market tightens. As with the operator's other Netherlands sites, AMS3 targets sustainable, modular design for both standard and AI/high-density colocation workloads.

  • 8.6 MW total potential IT capacity; 10.0 MVA redundant grid feed
  • 11,000 sqm total, 3,239 sqm net white space
  • Converted from a logistics building into a Tier 3+ DC in 2017
  • Indirect adiabatic cooling, pPUE 1.04
  • Expansion planned to 7 MW (2026) and +20 MW later
