Equinix DC3 occupies a single-story, reinforced-concrete building at 44470 Chilum Place, part of the broader Ashburn, Virginia campus that anchors Equinix's East Coast interconnection footprint. The facility provides 67,038 sq ft (6,228 sq m) of colocation space and is built with N+2 redundancy on both UPS and generator systems, a higher redundancy tier than some of the campus's earlier buildings. Published minimum cabinet density is 4 kVA on 120V/208V power distribution. As with other DC-series buildings, DC3 connects into the Ashburn metro's dense peering ecosystem and can cross-connect to the rest of the campus, giving tenants access to cloud on-ramps and network providers concentrated in Northern Virginia. The site holds Equinix's standard Washington DC-metro compliance set, including ISO 27001, ISO 22301, ISO 9001, SOC 1 and SOC 2 Type II, PCI DSS, HIPAA, NIST 800-53/FISMA High and HECVAT. DC3's N+2 power redundancy makes it a candidate for enterprise workloads that need resilience above the campus's baseline N+1 buildings, though the facility is not marketed as an AI or high-density compute site.
