Data Center Alatau

Data Center Alatau is the Almaty facility of Kaspi Cloud, the infrastructure company behind Kaspi.kz — the payments, banking and marketplace group that handles a large share of Kazakhstan's retail transaction volume. It belongs to the category of captive enterprise data centers rather than the colocation market: the group built it to host its own regulated workloads, and it is not marketed as rentable white space. It is nevertheless one of only a handful of facilities in the country carrying both Uptime Institute Tier III awards — Certification of Design Documents and Certification of Constructed Facility — which puts it in the same reliability bracket as the certified commercial sites run by Kazteleport and Transtelecom. Kaspi Cloud publishes no power capacity, rack count, floor area or commissioning date, so the entry rests on the certification register alone. The facility matters to the market picture in two ways. It shows that Kazakhstan's largest private digital businesses have chosen to build in-country rather than lean on foreign cloud regions, and it is part of why the certified-capacity pool in Almaty is smaller in practice than the certificate count suggests — a meaningful share of it is captive.
