AKASHI Data Center PLC is building what would be Kazakhstan's first fault-tolerant facility: the Uptime Institute register lists AKASHI Data Center 1 in Astana with Tier IV Certification of Design Documents, a certificate no other data center in the country holds. The published figures differ by source and by date, and buyers should treat them as such. The Eurasian Development Bank, which agreed in June 2026 to lend $90m against a total project cost of $230m, describes a first module of 10 MW and 520 racks and a full build of 41 MW and 3,520 racks. The operator's own site now describes a larger programme — four independent buildings, 4,224 racks and up to 100 MW of IT capacity on an 11-hectare site, fed by two independent 110 kV lines and four separate optical entries, with liquid cooling for AI and machine-learning workloads. The company reports a first phase launching in 2027 and says a majority of the racks are already reserved. If it is delivered on the certified design, the site would give Kazakhstan a fault-tolerant option for financial and government systems that currently have to settle for Tier III, and a credible landing point for accelerated compute in the capital.

  • Uptime Tier IV Certification of Design Documents — the only one in Kazakhstan
  • First module: 10 MW and 520 racks, financed with a $90m EDB loan
  • Full campus design: four buildings, 4,224 racks, up to 100 MW on 11 hectares
  • Two independent 110 kV feeds and four separate optical entries
  • Liquid cooling offered for AI and ML workloads; phase one targeted for 2027
