AirTrunk announced JHB3 and JHB4 in August 2026 as the next phase of its Johor platform, sited in Iskandar Puteri close to its existing operational JHB1 and JHB2 campuses. The two new buildings add more than 280 MW of combined IT load on a MYR12 billion (roughly US$3 billion) investment, lifting AirTrunk's total committed capacity across its four Malaysian campuses past 700 MW and its cumulative Malaysia investment to about MYR27 billion (US$6.8 billion). AirTrunk positions the campuses for high-density cloud and AI workloads, pairing them with cooling systems designed to draw on 100% recycled water so the added load doesn't compete with local potable supply — a sensitivity regulators in Johor have flagged as the state's data center pipeline has grown. The operator also points to energy efficiency well below conventional data center benchmarks, though it has not published a target PUE for the new buildings. AirTrunk expects construction to support more than 3,000 jobs, with MYR423 million (about US$107 million) already committed to local suppliers and contractors as of the announcement. No opening date has been disclosed; the campuses join a fast-growing Johor cluster that includes Equinix, GDS, Bridge, Vantage, Princeton Digital Group and YTL facilities within a few kilometers.
