Why prices sit where they do

Electricity is what sets the United Kingdom apart on cost. Commercial power at $0.442/kWh is more than four times Virginia's $0.103 and well above Germany's $0.283, so the energy component rather than the space component drives the total for a British deployment. Supply is also concentrated: of the 17 facilities in the catalog, 12 are in London and the rest sit in Slough, Cardiff, Corsham and Farnborough, for 282 MW recorded in total, of which only two sites are in the pipeline, and just two are flagged AI-ready. Network-facing tenants stay in London for the interconnection regardless of the tariff, but nothing else has to. The practical test is whether a workload genuinely needs London: if it does not, the same requirement placed 11 ms away in the Netherlands sits against a $0.22/kWh tariff, roughly half the British rate, and at this level of consumption that gap compounds every month of the term.
